It was? I tried to find it for days and couldn't!
Yeah it was in a PDF download. One of the things I think Bollow needs to fix! More accessible and more user friendly access to the schedules.

Heather:
You know I can dish you any feedback! I think that's where the major problem was, is that nobody knew what type of contest for costumes it was. There were a lot of us serious costumers, and then there was a handful of "I got this at Party City"-and-I'm-here-to-have-fun-people.
Not that there's anything wrong with it, but, I think it should be predetermined, otherwise, some might feel like they wasted their time.
Masquerades I think would be awesome. But not yet for Cyphan. Godzilla is my friend Billy, and he told us that was put together the last second because of those two Asian themed costumers LOL, if anything that should have gotten best of show because it was something that got highest audience reaction.
I feel if you're going to have a judge of sewing and weapon construction knowledge, then a prejudging should have taken place. Otherwise, how could that seamstress/armor judge the construction of the costume by 15ft away with poor lighting? Let alone aware of who's submitted any if any? Or what kind of contest it was? If prejudging happens, (for let's say you have an actually 'I made it myself' category which you should), role call BEFORE the contest is needed, just as you did for this one. Since it wasn't that, I felt the 45min before the show starts role call wasn't necessary. At MOST it should be 30min TOPS before starts JUST to line people up. But 45min-almost an hour, that should be for prejudging.
Don't ever pay attention to Wizard World's costume contests for tips. They're all garbage. Always has been. C2E2 at least had the idea of separating 'bought' and 'made', but didn't quite simplify the categories, let alone SEPARATE THE KIDS lol PLEASE NEVER INCLUDE THE KIDS IN THE SAME CONTEST. Give them their own.
The categories really were too many.
Too many specfics.
Just have 1 comic book category. Not best villain, superhero, weapon, etc etc. And likewise for the others.
Best shoes?
Don't have this category
ever. Please lol.
Best of Show should never go to someone who didn't make the costume at all (if it's not judged on performance). That's not fair. Let alone to a Batman costumer. I love me some Batman and that suit is a very expensive suit (see it on ebay, etc), but com'on... that's like giving Sexiest costume to a Slave Leia. Too predictable. Too stereotypical.
Keeping categories of Fantasy, Movie, Comic, TV, Sci-FI, Video Game would be great. Then branch those into 1st and 2nd. Then Best of Show overall. Then honorable mention.
Last year, I felt stupid winning "Best Female Comic Character" because I was the only one. That should be generalized into first and second, period. No male no female. Then I felt even MORE stupid because it got back to me that I would have won sexiest if I acted more like a lady on stage? Wtf lol
And having another Battlestar #6 win AGAIN was also too petty. Any thin broad that can go buy a red dress and a blonde wig could now win that category, now that it's been two years in a row that character winning.
Judges definitely need a full introduction to start it off, not just names. We're talking give me a paraphrased resume. I want to know how and why this person has reasonable background to judge MY work. Did that knowledgable dude work for anything? Or was he just a guy that knows stuff? Because anybody with a smart phone could do that lol No but seriously, intro should be no question. We need to know who we're walking in front of whether it's credible or not. You know?
Also, for the applicants:
Since we didn't know what type of contest it was, that's why my bio was short and silly saying "I MADE THIS. ITS NOT SPANDEX". Where as Jessica (Babydoll) had this extremely lengthy bio on her details (which was awesome btw), but some of us were like "oh shit, if I knew we had to do that, I would have been specific!") Something also to think about. Again, but this is only based off of the seriousness of the contest itself.

Bollow, loved Ron's Circus show. And no not because my friends secretly conspired to have my drunk ass get on stage, but, it had a great feel and was exciting. Had a horror Amazing Jonathon feel to it haha
However, I think you should have a break time inbetween his show and the burlesque show. I was getting antsy. Especially being drunk. Having a show late at night on a Friday? Yeah. You bet your ass I'm going to be drunk already and you need to keep my attention. (I say "my" and "me" speaking as a customer, not as a friend lol because you know as a friend I'm everywhere anyway).
All in all.
Better lighting, please.
The end lol
