If I Recall Correctly What I meant was that they do not do drawings at the convention. Add Mark Nelson and maybe Jacen Burrows? I've met Jacen before, he's an acquaintance of mine and a cool dude.

OH they don't Draw/do art commissions.
my bad,
But I guess i'm old school, i remember these guys doing drawing commissions. Hell I remember Adam Hughes coming to my local comic shop, I LOVED how he drew.
I honestly couldn't see a guy like Stan Lee or Todd MacFarlane doing any drawings. So I couldn't imagine the other guys would either.
Still my vote would be on artists that are up and coming, Looking to get noticed, and are somehwat local (at least within the midwest. Just a thought if you are going the Artist Alley route.
When I was at WW a lot of artists were being hounded by guys to do drawings. some of the more bigger names were done and left by end of day saturday or only came Saturday. So it left the other guys to do commissions.
My one friend was just swamped, sold out of all his prints within the first day and had to do 2-3 rounds of reprints for clients. I'm referring to Steve Palenica. Great artist and does a good job of capturing people's likenesses.

Yeah usually a lot of the big artists won't do sketches anymore because frankly they're popular enough that they take forever and it just screws it up for everybody.
I had an experience like that with Ethan Van Scriver about 3 years ago at Wizard where he was doing free sketches for everybody (why I don't know) and the line barely moved and he kept having to leave for panels and things. He doesn't do them any more, but luckily I got one because my buddy Matt offered to wait in line for me while I went to the Star Wars panel.

Be careful on names like Todd MacFarlane, Stan Lee, etc. Those are really big names. J Scott still sketches. Even Greg Horn and Adam Hughes. It just depends on the con, because if they get over booked on sketch requests, then they just don't take anymore. Sometimes pending on their popularity, the sketch commissions aren't even given to the customer until via snail mail later. Khary Randolph, Gregory Titus, and Diosdado Mondero definitely still sketch... as I have some At this point, I think we need to consider artists by their resume, not their name. Big names will be hard to come by, at least for now. So we can still get people who've done work for Marvel, DC, Image, etc, but can't be big time names unless it's a favor, I'd think. However, Bollow, you know those huge huge huge Marvel and DC photoshoots that were going down at Dragoncon? And how Stan Lee and George Perez came to visit us? And then those big balcony parties that were Thur and Sun in the Marriott? Yeah we're a part of the Superhero Costuming Forum (aka SCF, thesuperherocostumingforum.com/)Get a huge booth of these dudes just like 501st guys. Maybe they can work some magic.
