Many of them aren't great, but they're fun. But like I said I don't know if they even still exist. I haven't paid attention nor heard anything of them in years. Then again I'm not a die hard potter fan either. Although a cursory search shows Draco & the Malfoys are still around. www.evilwizardrock.com/Pretty sure the Browncoats are still around, they had a booth at C2E2 last year. You could also look into Kirby Krackle, they do superhero songs and are actually pretty good.

"...could have a projector playing movies of Ray Park's films" Love this idea!
"...have a 'weapons/coat check/bag' spot" Also a good idea, only concern is whoever is stationed there, needs to be the ENTIRE time, or we get shifts. Plus, there's also someone who should partner with that station to monitor the cashflow.
I still vote no to bands playing the convention at all. Too loud, too much electricity. Too much liability with equipment.

Regarding the Coat/weapons/back/ check spot....
You're right someone would have to be there the entire time.
One could work it this way:
have 2 hour shifts, maybe even get members of security to do it? Money - hmmm, that's a tough one. While I think there should be a simple charge ($1-$2). Someone definitly needs to be trustworthy with the cash.
Here's a thought, perhaps have a ledger, at the end of their shift. They "Text Bollow, Kearstin, Heather" whoever the $ amount they have at the end of their shift.
Then the next person does the same.
but the person counting the money cannot share that number with anyone but the person he/she texted.
Bollow can check his texts at the end of the day and if he notices a 'dip' in the number, he can go to that person and say 'hey, your drawer is short.' whats' up?
I know it sounds a bit cumbersome. Or you can just have the head of security count the drawer at the end of each shift and text that info to bollow.
Just thinking of ways to make sure the cash is secure.
Keeping the shifts to 2 hours should be long enough i feel. And i'm sure you can rotate people out of different positions throughout the show.
Thoughts? feel free to modify what i said. -River

Ok ok so no band. I'd rather have a DJ anyway (but aren't they just as loud? LOL).
